This song was an absolute nightmare to try and get to a decent enough level that I felt worth releasing. The lighting was extremely harsh throughout most of the concert, which is pretty much impossible for me to do too much about, and ultimately some of the stuff came out darker than I would have liked, mostly because I was trying to keep the quality as high as possible. There is always a trade-off between quality and how bright a dark scene will appear since on a fixed aperture, you have to either alter the shutter speed or the ISO. The real problem was the audio however, as the audio sounded decent in the original recording, but after I edited the video and re-encoded, for some reason I was getting pops and clicks in the audio. After a whole bunch of trial and error, I eventually had to try and cut and use the original audio with the new video, which took some time, but it should be good now at least.

This video has been edited from the original, as I had already been working on it for quite a while. Unfortunately, like a number of other videos, the audio is still blown out in parts because of the bass from the speakers. I really need to figure out a way to control the audio while recording to limit those bass thumps, since they are virtually impossible to get rid of once recorded, you can only reduce them slightly, (if you are lucky.) The one downside with being so close to the artists is that you are often right beside, or under, the massive speaker setup.

Ariana Grande – Dangerous Woman (Sweetener World Tour, Vancouver)

This video took a TON of editing, as she was essentially a red blob in the original footage. (You could tell it was her, but because the lighting was SO harsh, she just radiated red to the point where it was very distracting.) Due to the absolutely mind-blowing vocal performance she gave for this song, (which I think was probably overall the best of the night, and even the smile on her face at the very end as she finishes shows the joy she got from that ultra-powerful rendition,) I decided to spend quite a bit of time working on it, trying to achieve the highest-quality video I could. Although it still isn’t the best by any stretch, at least she looks human in the footage and there is some hint of skin-tone that isn’t fire-red. I really wish I could have done better, but the only downside to her concert was the fact that the lighting is terrible for anything that isn’t a professional camera, set up to deal with those harsh conditions.

Bebe Rexha – I'm A Mess (Happiness Begins Tour, Vancouver)



Ok…Bebe Rexha is a pure, all-out, legend and queen…already! She was someone I have wanted to meet for ages and not only did she NOT disappoint, she gave probably the best fan M&G experience I have ever done, (and I’ve done a decent amount now.) That’s not to say that others weren’t really good, or special, because many of them were, but Bebe totally went the extra mile with the small number of us and just sitting there beside her for around 40 minutes in her tiny dressing room, listening to new music she is working on, (she played 5 tracks!) and chatting with her a bit about her music, then having her actually Facetime people with us was absolutely awesome! It would have been hilarious if the head of her record label had picked up, but it shows how much she truly does appreciate her fans and what they think. I hope she stays that why forever, because not only does she not need to change IN ANY WAY, (she is absolutely GORGEOUS and SEXY in person!!!) her attitude reveals that her heart lies in making music for true fans, which is partly what makes her so relatable and incredible. I can’t wait for her headlining tour, which I hope is sooner rather than later, and that she continues to be as giving and intimate with her fans as she was with us. Rock on Bebe!

Citizen Queen – Best Part (Daniel Caesar Cover) (Pentatonix: The World Tour, Vancouver)



Ok, where do I start and what can I say about this group? Voices. No instruments. Talent. Incredible! If you haven’t heard about them and you enjoy A cappella then you are in for a treat! If you already love them, then you know what to expect and are still in for a treat because they did an absolutely amazing cover version of this song live. I love these types of things because it truly shows just how talented people can be completely on their own merits, without added layers of manufacture, which helps you appreciate music of all types more and recognize individuals for what they bring to the experience. I wish them all the luck in the world and hope they continue to get the recognition they deserve!

Lorde – The Louvre (Melodrama World Tour, Vancouver)

Due to people using my footage without asking permission first, I finally decided to place a watermark on the last 2 uploads. I really didn’t want to and was trying my best to avoid it, but ultimately it seems I have no choice. If people asked me to display my footage before using it, gave me credit and linked to my site, I would probably agree to it, but that hasn’t been happening.

Before anyone says anything, the ‘still’ portion of the footage is intact in the original recording, however, the fan caught her dress and blew it up. Although she wasn’t naked, (she had on the same bottoms she had on throughout the rest of the concert,) it was still more revealing than I thought might be appropriate considering and I felt uncomfortable releasing it. If she were to eventually view the footage, I wouldn’t want her to be displeased over that, so instead of blacking out those few seconds or trying to blur them, (which were options I considered,) I figured it was better to just run a still over that tiny section, while the audio played. It may not be what everyone would like, but it was either that or I not post it at all. It is only 3 seconds at least!

This song gave a little bit of everything and I must admit I was wildly shocked when they actually threw her up into the air! Something like that can be pretty risky and luckily it turned out perfect.

I honestly wasn’t sure if it was worth posting this, simply because the quality (in my eyes) is pretty terrible. Unfortunately a lot of the footage is probably pretty similar to this as well, seeing as the lighting was extremely horrible for filming on a non-professional camera, or something that you could easily do color conversions with. Again, my positioning was also completely wrong for most of this concert, which is why my footage doesn’t live up to the standards I always try to achieve.
