VanScience Social – A Day Of Science Tours in Vancouver

Mike from TopDaddies.com joins the Science World team for the VanScience Social on a tour of some of the most amazing science hubs in Vancouver to explore, learn and do some hands-on science experiments with local experts.

The day started with a wander around Science World galleries and some science storytelling, courtesy of Anecdotal Evidence. We then hopped on a trolley to TRIUMF to tour Canada’s biggest particle accelerator. After a thorough discussion about the origin of the universe, we reversed perspectives to look at the particles in our human bodies by participating in a DNA extraction experiment at UBC’s Michael Smith Labs. Finally, we finished off our night with a guided astronomy experience at the HR Macmillan Space Centre and even got to see the moon up close at the observatory’s telescope.

What To Look For In A Travel And Tours Franchise

If you're looking for franchising opportunities in the travel sector, you'll want to make sure you find the best possible holiday company. In order to decide which one is the right one to choose, it pays to spend a little time researching your various options by seeing what competing providers have to offer you.

As with many things these days, the best place to start looking for a successful travel and tours franchise is online. Perhaps you're looking for an agency that will enable you to compare the prices of the world's leading holiday companies? Or maybe you're in search of a company with many industry contacts around the world, offering the most exclusive deals?

Perhaps one of your requirements is that they sell package holidays to a particular destination, such as the Caribbean Islands? Whatever it is that you're looking for, you're bound to find a good fit by searching online, as the opportunities are practically endless.

Don't forget you can always get in touch directly for a quote if the website's pricing isn't clear. The company should have a customer service team available around the clock – whether this is over the phone, by e-mail or through an online chat facility.

Different agencies will likely have varying specialties, such as all-inclusive packages or the best knowledge of Sandals resorts, and which one you choose may come down to personal preference. If you have a particular destination in mind, use the search bar to scope out the options for flights and accommodation relevant to this area.

However, in order to find the best travel and tour franchise you will need to track down the company that offers the widest choice of holiday destinations, both online and by phone. It may be worth contacting the company directly to discuss the different options they have available, or you can simply spend some time looking through their website.

Another factor to take into consideration is the price of these holidays compared to other leading providers. Do they have access to the most exclusive last minute deals? How many international flight and hotel providers do they have in their database? Look out for collaboration with major holiday brands like Virgin and Western Oriental.

Be sure to check to see if the agency you've chosen is part of a bigger group. You may not realise it, but they could be part of a larger independent buying group – a detail that could just swing your decision in their favor. If they have an affiliate company, spend some time researching them, too.

It is vital that the company you choose is a member of the ABTA and that the holidays they sell are fully protected by ATOL and Flight Plus schemes. This will ensure (more than great customer testimonials ever could – although these are important too) that they are a trusted company that travelers continue to use with confidence.

If you're satisfied that the company you're researching is a trusted and acclaimed travel provider, it's time to spend some time browsing through their travel and tour options to make sure you like what you see.

You should find a vast range of worldwide holidays, cruises, city breaks, ski and snowboard packages and – most importantly – tailor made packages. These packages may be all-inclusive, inclusive or allow clients to choose their flights and hotels separately, whilst still remaining under the company's financial protection.

Offering bespoke travel packages will set your agency above other competing companies in the industry. Not only will this option allow customers to choose the most convenient flight and hotel options, but they will also be able to curate every detail of their experience from scratch – resulting in a holiday to remember.

How to Compare Bus Tours

Travelling almost anywhere in the world can be done on a bus. Bus tours usually provide good value to the travellers but not all bus tours are the same. No one tour company will ever satisfy everyone’s needs for travel. Here we provide some tips on comparing bus tours. Generally, the best tours deliver what they promise.

Size of tour

The tour size is determined by many factors, mainly the bus size. However some specialty tours, like photography, cooking, and other interest tours limit numbers due to other reasons. In the majority of cases the conditions of the air-conditioned buses are excellent and their maintenance is up to date. They provide comfortable seats and other amenities like toilets on board. Small tours range from 8 to 20 participants, while large bus tours range from 20 to 55 participants.

Cheap, value or luxury tour

The cheapest bus tours are ridiculously cheap and generally participants pay extra for everything. Nothing is included other than travel and the accommodation.

Luxury bus tours generally include everything and provide luxury accommodation options and may even have several empty seats on the bus to make it more comfortable.

Be sure to do sufficient research to confirm that the tour company meets your expectations of travel. Some bus tour companies own their buses and staff a casual, others hire buses but have permanent staff. Each business model has its advantages and disadvantages. All generally claim to be the “best”. Small tour groups are more intimate for many reasons, while the larger groups are herded about form place to place with military precision.

Confirm that there is sufficient time at the attractions to enjoy them and for many people the small tours offer a minimum of 2 night stays so that participants do not have to pack and unpack every day. Many of the cheap tours move hotels every day to pack as much into the itinerary as possible.

Recommendations for bus tour travellers

Check that the provider is reputable

Go with the smallest group size that you can afford

Confirm that the accommodation is in the city (not the outskirts)

Avoid tours with multiple one-night stays

Ask for authentic food experiences and understand what meals are included

Read the fine-print including inclusions, exclusions and cancellation policies

When comparing prices – compare total costs, not just up front tour costs

In summary, not all tours are the same. Smaller value tours often provide the best experience for those who enjoy culture, history and meeting new people.

Tours To Europe – What Are The Best Student And Train Tours In Europe?

Travel is a fantastic experience and whatever your budget, tours to Europe provide fantastic value for money. If you’ve always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, throw a coin in the Treves Fountain or catch a river boat down the Danube, there’s a destination for you. Europe is a continent of contrast with many culturally diverse countries within easy reach of each other. There are many ways to view Europe: perhaps you fancy taking one of numerous European cruises or seeing it all from a train window. Whatever your approach, there’s a mode of transport for you and a bustling and vibrant country ready to offer you a warm and friendly welcome.

Student tours europe

Whilst many students may struggle financially during their studies, travelling around Europe still represents good value for money since there are various incentives specifically designed for those in education. Moreover, vacation periods tend to be relatively long and responsibilities minimal with many students taking gap years to travel or work abroad. But where are the best places to travel to if you’re planning on taking a student tour around Europe? Often, the best place to start is by looking around online where there are countless websites which offer cut-price deals specifically designed to cater to the student market. There are a number of tours designed for students and, whether travelling on your own or in a large group, they can provide you with the security of fixed price travel and a pre-planned route. They also represent an excellent opportunity to meet fellow travellers and learn about other cultures and different ways of doing things.

Those on the most limited student budget can ‘backpack’ around Europe. This is a hugely popular option and essentially involves throwing a few items in a rucksack and travelling from place to place staying in hostels and inexpensive hotels. This approach is often favoured by many students since it gives you the opportunity to visit a large number of places for the least amount of money. There are many websites offering advice on planning this type of trip including tips on what to pack (backpackers can often be away for a number of weeks, months or even years!), where to stay and how to save money. The most important thing here is to plan. Plan your route by deciding on the countries that you’d most like to visit and then determine how you intend to travel between them. This gives you the best opportunity to estimate travel costs and look for discount vouchers.

Train tours Europe

An extremely popular place to start looking when booking your trip is by considering train travel. It has numerous advantages over hopping on an aeroplane including offering high-speed travel in a comfortable and relaxed environment. Perhaps most appealingly, you don’t have to go through the same security checks which airline travel demands and, of course, there’s the added benefit of being able to look out of the window and view some stunning scenery. Planning your journey can seem daunting at first and the list of your favourite destinations can help you immeasurably. There are many high-speed train routes across the length and breadth of Europe; from Portugal to Russia and London to Bulgaria, the list is endless. Simply grab a map and load up your favourite internet search engine to plan your itinerary – many websites now offer this sort of service as standard.
