Ariana Grande – Fake Smile (Sweetener World Tour, Vancouver)

This song was an absolute nightmare to try and get to a decent enough level that I felt worth releasing. The lighting was extremely harsh throughout most of the concert, which is pretty much impossible for me to do too much about, and ultimately some of the stuff came out darker than I would have liked, mostly because I was trying to keep the quality as high as possible. There is always a trade-off between quality and how bright a dark scene will appear since on a fixed aperture, you have to either alter the shutter speed or the ISO. The real problem was the audio however, as the audio sounded decent in the original recording, but after I edited the video and re-encoded, for some reason I was getting pops and clicks in the audio. After a whole bunch of trial and error, I eventually had to try and cut and use the original audio with the new video, which took some time, but it should be good now at least.

Ariana Grande – Break Free (Sweetener World Tour, Vancouver)

#ArianaGrande #Sweetener #thankunext

This video has been edited from the original, as I had already been working on it for quite a while. Unfortunately, like a number of other videos, the audio is still blown out in parts because of the bass from the speakers. I really need to figure out a way to control the audio while recording to limit those bass thumps, since they are virtually impossible to get rid of once recorded, you can only reduce them slightly, (if you are lucky.) The one downside with being so close to the artists is that you are often right beside, or under, the massive speaker setup.

Ariana Grande – Dangerous Woman (Sweetener World Tour, Vancouver)

#ArianaGrande #Sweetener #thankunext

This video took a TON of editing, as she was essentially a red blob in the original footage. (You could tell it was her, but because the lighting was SO harsh, she just radiated red to the point where it was very distracting.) Due to the absolutely mind-blowing vocal performance she gave for this song, (which I think was probably overall the best of the night, and even the smile on her face at the very end as she finishes shows the joy she got from that ultra-powerful rendition,) I decided to spend quite a bit of time working on it, trying to achieve the highest-quality video I could. Although it still isn’t the best by any stretch, at least she looks human in the footage and there is some hint of skin-tone that isn’t fire-red. I really wish I could have done better, but the only downside to her concert was the fact that the lighting is terrible for anything that isn’t a professional camera, set up to deal with those harsh conditions.

Driving Downtown – Vancouver 4K – Canada

Driving Downtown – Vancouver BC Canada – Season 1 Episode 22.
Starting Point: Granville St .
Vancouver, officially the City of Vancouver, is a coastal seaport city on the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. The 2011 census recorded 603,502 people in the city, making it the eighth largest Canadian municipality.[1] The Greater Vancouver area of around 2.4 million inhabitants is the third most populous metropolitan area in the country,[1] the second largest city on the United States–Canada border, and the most populous in Western Canada. Vancouver is one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada; 52% of its residents have a first language other than English.[4][5] Vancouver is classed as a Beta global city. The City of Vancouver encompasses a land area of about 114 square kilometres, giving it a population density of about 5,249 people per square kilometre (13,590 per square mile). Vancouver is the most densely populated Canadian municipality, and the fourth most densely populated city with over 250,000 residents in North America, behind New York City, San Francisco,[6] and Mexico City.

The original settlement, named Gastown, grew up on clearcuts on the west edge of the Hastings Mill logging sawmill’s property, where a makeshift tavern had been set up on a plank between two stumps and the proprietor, Gassy Jack, persuaded the curious millworkers to build him a tavern, on 1 July 1867. From that first enterprise, other stores and some hotels quickly appeared along the waterfront to the west. Gastown became formally laid out as a registered townsite dubbed Granville, B.I. (“B.I” standing for “Burrard Inlet”). As part of the land and political deal whereby the area of the townsite was made the railhead of the CPR, it was renamed “Vancouver” and incorporated shortly thereafter as a city, in 1886. By 1887, the transcontinental railway was extended to the city to take advantage of its large natural seaport, which soon became a vital link in a trade route between the Orient, Eastern Canada, and Europe.[7][8] As of 2009, Port Metro Vancouver is the busiest and largest port in Canada, and the most diversified port in North America.[9] While forestry remains its largest industry, Vancouver is well known as an urban centre surrounded by nature, making tourism its second-largest industry.[10] Major film production studios in Vancouver and Burnaby have turned Greater Vancouver and nearby areas into one of the largest film production centres in North America,[11][12] earning it the film industry nickname, Hollywood North.[13][14][15]

Vancouver is consistently named as one of the top five worldwide cities for livability and quality of life,[16][17] and the Economist Intelligence Unit acknowledged it as the first city to rank among the top-ten of the world’s most liveable cities[18] for five consecutive years.[19] Vancouver has hosted many international conferences and events, including the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, UN Habitat I, Expo 86, the World Police and Fire Games in 1989 and 2009; and the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Winter Paralympics which were held in Vancouver and Whistler, a resort community 125 km (78 mi) north of the city.[20] In 2014, following thirty years in California, the annual TED conference made Vancouver its indefinite home. Several matches of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup were played in Vancouver, including the final at BC Place Stadium.[21]

Edvard Munch – An Expressionist Experience of the Art World

Born on December 12, 1863 in Loieten, Edvard Munch was a Norwegian painter and a graphic artist. His family moved to Oslo (Kristiania) in 1864 and it was here that Edvard Munch started his art training. His father, Christian Munch was a military doctor and an ardent follower of Christianity.

Edvard Munch (not Edward Munch) enrolled in Technical College for an engineering degree in 1879; However, his recurrent illness prevented him from completing his degree. A year later, in his endeavor to become an artist, he joined the Royal School of Art and Design, Kristiania (now Oslo). His art and thoughts were greatly influenced by the writer Hans Jaeger, who was the leader of the controversial group, called 'Christiania's Bohemia.' Jaeger was a believer of free love and of a non-materialistic society.

Beginning with Impressionism and Naturalism, Munch graduated to a Symbolist and Expressionist art form. His early and one of the most popular paintings, 'Sick Child' (1886) and 'The Scream' (1893), illustrate his childhood ordeal of losing his mother in 1868 and sister in 1877 to tuberculosis at a young age. The 'Sick Child' used a popular theme amongst the Norwegian pragmatist artists, served as a tribute to his sister. Munch's paintings used the artistic expressions in a manner, which allowed audiences to interpret the content in their own way.

In 1889, Edvard joined the Bonnat School of Arts in Paris and held an exhibition of over a hundred works at the Student Organization in Christiania. After his father's death in 1889, Munch took up to heavy drinking and moved back to Norway. Berlin Artists' Association invited him in 1892 to exhibit his paintings. However, Munch found his paintings in the midst of a controversy, commonly referred as "The Munch Affair," forcing the exhibition to shut down in a week's time. He used this publicity to his advantage by organizing other exhibitions and selling his paintings in other towns.

The following year, Edvard Munch joined the international circle of writers, critics, and artists including Ola Hannson, Richard Dehmal, Holger Drachmann, Gunnar Heiberg, and August Strinberg. He painted a series of painting depicting love, anxiety, and death, which were coined as 'Frieze of Life.' To ensure that his painting got a large audience, he started making prints, the designs of which were mostly taken from Frieze. 'The Scream,' perhaps his most popular work to date, has been inferred to represent the angst of modern man.

He maintained that, "in my art I attempt to explain life and its meaning to myself." After having suffered a nervous breakdown in 1908, requiring electrical shock and the months of recovery time, he became a teetotaler and rational. However, he had lost his edge but continued painting. Also to his credit, he composed a prose poem titled 'Alpha and Omega' (1909), through lithograph illustrations. By the time he died at the age of 81 on January 23, 1944, he left behind thousands of paintings and prints for the world to cherish.

Ariana Grande – Side To Side (Sweetener World Tour, Vancouver)

#ArianaGrande #Sweetener #thankunext

I honestly wasn’t sure if it was worth posting this, simply because the quality (in my eyes) is pretty terrible. Unfortunately a lot of the footage is probably pretty similar to this as well, seeing as the lighting was extremely horrible for filming on a non-professional camera, or something that you could easily do color conversions with. Again, my positioning was also completely wrong for most of this concert, which is why my footage doesn’t live up to the standards I always try to achieve.

Normani – Waves (Sweetener World Tour, Vancouver)

#Normani #FifthHarmony #Sweetener #ArianaGrande

So, unfortunately for Normani, she had a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ during this song. She didn’t stop the song and luckily for her she was able to figure out a way to deal with it, using her long hair. The one strap on her top either broke or came loose, which is why you can see a strap hanging down for part of the song. If you are wondering why she kept her left hand over her heart, the reason is because she was trying to hold her top in place, using her hair as added coverage. It may or may not have led to her doing the routine for the song exactly as she had expected, but the fact that she continued on, adjusted and still gave a good show was both brave and impressive. I had wondered during the song why her hand was kept there, but it wasn’t until just before the next song when she actually told the audience she had had a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ and didn’t want everyone to see her ‘goodies’ that it was made clear. For anyone wondering, if there had been any ‘exposure’ I would have either censored it out or not released this video at all, so you don’t need to waste your time looking for anything.
